Covid Stress-Busting Technique

Are you worried that you might contract covid? Tired of staying home for so many weeks on end? Feeling edgy and irritable? Bored? Restless? Scared? Money worries?

Give this challenge a SUD level on a scale from 1-10 (10 being the most intense): How stressed are you about Covid 19?

 

Even though I’m scared that I might contract Covid, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

Even though I don’t know how much longer I can last this way, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

Even though I am running out of things to do at home, I accept who I am and how I feel.

 

Top of Head: What if I contract Covid?

Inside the Eye: I could die.

Outside the Eye: It can happen to anyone.

Under the Eye: No one knows when it will end.

Under the Nose: I’m scared and worried.

Under the Mouth: I’m getting bored and restless staying home.

Collarbone: I wish I could go out somewhere.

Underarm: I’m more irritable than usual.

Top of Head: I don’t know how much longer I can last.

Inside the Eye: It’s hard for me to adjust to a new routine.

Outside the Eye: It’s easy to eat extra food and exercise less.

Under the Eye: These money worries.

Under the Nose: I’m running out of things to do.

Under the Mouth: I miss interacting with people in person.

Underarm: This fear of going out for food.

Also write down whatever comes up for you when you tap, and also tap on that.

 

KEEP TAPPING THE SAME THING FOR SEVERAL ROUNDS. WHEN YOUR SUD LEVEL HAS DROPPED TO 3 OR BELOW AND YOU ARE FEELING BETTER ABOUT THIS CHALLENGE, THEN GO ON TO THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE.

 

Top of Head: It’s not all bad.

Inside the Eye: I’ve had time to get to projects I couldn’t get to before.

Outside the Eye: I have more time to do the things I want to do.

Under the Eye: I like having more time to myself.

Under the Nose: The world is getting less polluted.

Under the Mouth: I have more family time and enjoy that.

Collarbone: I am learning how to be creative and resourceful.

Underarm: I’m thankful that I’m home safe and have food in the house.
